As highlighted on the Flat Dumbbell Flyes exercise demonstration page, Incline Dumbbell Flyes are a great alternative. Not only are Incline Dumbbell Flyes a great way to "hit" the upper chest (Clavicular Fibres), but they're also far easier to correctly manoeuvre weights in to and out of position.
